Description
I accidentally ripped this canvas a bit, leaving a hole that’s easy to see. I spent days thinking about how to fix it without the client noticing. Then I realized, why am I trying so hard to be perfect when that’s not really me? I think my recent visit to The Broad in Los Angeles, where I saw Basquiat’s original pieces, influenced me. They were so imperfect, you could even see the artist’s shoe prints on them. That got me thinking. And that’s how I came up with this piece: Hide reality to achieve perfection.
